Bewdley Book Week kicks off the start this year's Bewdley Festival early and runs from 9 - 14 September. It's set to bring a host of well-known authors to the town. The writers include Angela Douglas who will appear at the Mercure Hotel on the opening day. She will be talking about her autobiography "Swings and Roundabouts" which is all about her life as an actress and her love affair with actor Kenneth More.

TV actress Sheila Steafel (The Frost Report, Dr Who, Not Only But Also) will be sharing her experiences of the small screen and speaking of her marriage to Harry H Corbett, both of which feature in her autobiography.

Former editor of Kerrang! and Q magazine Paul Rees will also be talking about writing the authorised biography of Worcestershire rock legend Robert Plant.

Schools in Bewdley will be getting involved as well and look out for book themed events around the town, including the Literary Quiz Supper at the Hop Pole on 14th September. There will also be the chance to make your own single-section cased-in book at the museum on Sunday 15th September. Booking essential at the museum desk.
